Care Pathways Welcomes Well Known Author and Professor Gloria M Davenport Ph.D to Care Pathways Senior and Family Care
 
 
 
Gloria M. Davenport, Ph.D. is an author, counselor, professor, and program developer who has dedicated more than thirty years in the helping professions. Gloria “teaches people how to take care of themselves, not fix them.”

Dr. Davenport received her Ph.D. in Education at Claremont University, Claremont, CA. There her focus was on Applied Psychology. Her dissertation, Determinants of Successful Aging, led to sabbatical research on psychological toxicity (verbal and emotional abuse) in agers and its impact on professional care providers and adult children.

As a result of her many workshops and support groups, Dr. Davenport has written two books on the subject:

- Working With Toxic Older Adults: a Guide to Coping With Difficult Elders, with a forward by Peggy Weatherspoon, MSG former Director, Orange County California, Area Agency on Aging, and
 Toxic Agers: They Never Learned to Love, the companion book for adult children or those that interact with toxic's.

Care Pathways will welcome Gloria as part of our team of advisors this fall. As well as the many workshops for caregivers and adult children she will bring to Orange County. Her workshops will be sponsored by Care Pathways and we are pleased to welcome her as her wealth of knowledge and experience are a valuable asset to our community.
